This piece is acrylic on layered paper bag, dirt, and gel medium.
Created after conversations with a friend who was dealing with internal struggles of eating disorders, I wanted to created a piece that dealt with the layers of people: What we show and what we hide.
This piece contains different cut out letters creating phrases layered under the paint and a fully resolved painting of me walking into the woods. I chose to cover it completely with my favorite color of green; that glow given off in the Pacific Northwest from the ferns and algae. In the end this piece is about texture and the textures and layers of humans.
